The Waiting Wedding Ring
(There is no perfect Love Story but there's always a real one)
(May 30, 2010)
What will you do if the one you love died 5 days before your wedding day? That's what my friend Ianne asked me while we were on our way to McDonald's. I was like "Nothing I will just attend the funeral (smiling)", and she was like "Gaga". At first, I thought she was just being random but then when we were having our meal, she told me a story, not just a story but a real love story. She told me a story about a couple who were about to get married. The couple were from London, England. They were both Filipinos and also from the town where we live. The couple have been together for 7 years and they just came back here in the Philippine because they were deciding to get married. The preparation for the wedding was all completed. The only thing that was missing was the wedding ring. The couple decided to buy the wedding ring 5 days before the wedding day. They went in a famous Mall here in the Philippines. The guy asked the girl to eat first but the girl told the guy "Later hun, we're running out of time". Then the guy followed the girl. They bought a nice and expensive wedding ring. When they stepped out of the store, the girl said to the guy "Hun, the wedding ring you chose is pretty. Thank You!" then after that the girl passed out, the guy carried her and took to the ambulance outside the mall. When they reached the hospital the girl was (DOA) dead on arrival. The cause of the girl's death was blood clot in her brain. It's alot of pain for the guy waiting for 7 years to get married to the woman he loves and just passed away all of the sudden. The guy asked the priest if they could still get married but the priest said no. The guy even wanted to wear his wedding suit and put the wedding ring to the girl's finger on the interment day. After listening to Ianne's story I was like, I thought stories like that was just from Korean Dramas/Movies that I watch. However, the story is somewhat familiar but still, it's kinda sad. I told to my friend that maybe the girl was his Soul Mate but not his True Love. Love is not what you see it. Sometimes it's high, sometimes it's low. We shouldn't be always in a rush. I even told her that we don't know what will happen in the future. I believe that people who broke my heart are leading me to the man of my dreams. This story gives me hope and makes me more patient in waiting for my God's Gift! :)
This story was told by the boyfriend of my friend's sister who attended the funeral.
